Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for smooth and efficient operation of machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment.
- Respond to immediate repair requests of production equipment.
- Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Responsible for repairing, troubleshooting and performing routine preventative maintenance tasks on various machinery and buildings used in C&B Piping's production process.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, conducting repairs as necessary to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on cranes and other heavy machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Adhere, maintain, and follow a safe work environment to ensure compliance with all safety procedures and regulations.
- Direct and perform complex mechanical repair work and is responsible for the more intricate repair assignments, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Direct and perform inspection and the more complicated preventive maintenance work on industrial forklift trucks.
- Work on the major overhaul of equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical machinery and equipment and forklift trucks.
- Responsible for checking equipment after repairs for correct adjustments, removal of any unsafe trucks/equipment from plant area.
- Direct the use of and uses oxy-acetylene and welding equipment necessary to perform welding or burning in the normal performance of maintenance and repairs.
- Direct and perform lubrication work on all machines and forklift trucks.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Eight (8) years of prior industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Foundries, steel mills, machine shops would be a huge plus.
- Certification in crane operation or maintenance.
- Experience working with large lathes and other metal fabrication equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read electrical blueprints, troubleshoot and repair electrical issues including wiring motors, changing out disconnects, replacing fuses, splicing and repairing broken, etc.
- Ability to work outside or in indoor spaces not climate controlled.
- Ability to work both independently when necessary and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
