As a Health & Safety Manager, you will be at the heart of creating a safe, compliant, and proactive working environment across 40 branches in the UK and Ireland. This pivotal position is essential for reducing risk, enhancing standards, and fostering a positive safety culture, ultimately contributing to the company's ambitious goal of tripling repeat customers over the next five years.
This role is perfect for a seasoned professional with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, who has significant experience managing health and safety across multiple sites. Your deep understanding of UK and Irish health and safety legislation, coupled with your ability to lead audits, inspections, and compliance programmes, will be crucial. You will be the primary liaison for external health and safety consultants, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, ensuring that health and safety becomes an integral part of everyday decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously improve health and safety systems, policies, and practices.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections, monitor performance, and drive corrective actions.
- Chair Health & Safety Committee meetings, support and develop Health & Safety Representatives, and deliver training and awareness campaigns.
- Ensure consistent compliance with legislation, achieving a significant reduction in accidents and incidents, and improving employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Embed a robust Health & Safety governance framework, ensuring clear visibility of risks and compliance performance.
- Communicate, influence, and manage stakeholders, challenge and hold individuals accountable, and provide strong report writing and analytical skills.
- Maintain a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel extensively.
