We’re currently recruiting for a Building Control and Safety Director position, a key strategic appointment within this organisation’s growing Building & Real Estate team. This senior, client‑facing leadership role requires acting as Principal Designer / PD Advisor across major, complex, and high‑risk projects. It is a remote/semi‑hybrid position with some office attendance encouraged, with multiple office locations across the South East so the location is flexible.
Role
- Act as Principal Designer / PD Advisor on large‑scale developments
- Lead on design risk management and Building Safety Act compliance
- Advise clients at a strategic level on regulatory and compliance matters
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, regulators, and stakeholders
- Help grow and shape a high‑performing compliance function
What We’re Looking For
- Experience operating as a Principal Designer or PD Advisor
- Strong knowledge of Building Safety Act & Gateway process, CDM Regulations, design risk management & statutory compliance
- Background delivering on complex/high‑risk projects (HRBs a bonus)
- Confident working as a trusted advisor to senior clients
- Chartered (RICS / CABE or similar)
