Welder Fabricator – Spider is advertising on behalf of a family-focused engineering and manufacturing business serving customers across a range of commercial sectors. They are looking for a Welder Fabricator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis near Ipswich, Suffolk.

Due to continued growth and expansion, our client is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to join their skilled workshop team. Working within a well-established family-run business, you will be involved in the fabrication of commercial vehicle bodies, lifting equipment, and associated structures for a customer base operating across a variety of transport-related sectors. This is a hands-on role offering variety, stability, and the opportunity to work on a range of bespoke projects from a fully equipped workshop environment.

Working hours for this role are: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 – 17:30 and Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.

Key duties:
  • Fabricate substructures, lifting equipment, and commercial vehicle bodies to required specifications
  • Work on a variety of fabrication projects from the company workshop
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings and project documentation
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and to agreed project deadlines
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, and safety throughout all fabrication activities
About you:

As a Welder Fabricator, you will have a minimum of five years' positional MIG welding experience and be confident welding a range of material thicknesses from 1mm to 20mm. You will possess strong fabrication skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately from technical documentation. You will have basic mathematical and design skills, be reliable, self-motivated, and capable of managing your workload effectively. A full UK driving licence is essential, and applicants must live within a commutable distance of Ipswich.
