This is an opportunity to join a Tier 1 contractor in a broad, hands-on legal role supporting live infrastructure and construction projects. The role offers exposure across claims, insurance, construction contracts and corporate governance, and would suit someone at an early stage in their legal career looking to build practical, in-house experience within a commercially focused environment.
You will work closely with an experienced legal team embedded within the business, supporting both legal and operational stakeholders on day-to-day project matters. This role would be particularly well-suited to candidates balancing work alongside SQE studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the legal team on construction-related matters across live projects
- Assisting with the management of claims, disputes and adjudications
- Liaising with insurers and brokers on coverage and claims-related queries
- Reviewing and drafting construction documentation, including contracts and ancillary agreements
- Providing general legal support to operational and commercial teams
- Assisting with company secretarial matters, including filings and governance processes
- Managing and maintaining legal documentation and contract databases
- Coordinating with external counsel where required
- Supporting internal stakeholders with day-to-day legal queries
- Contributing to process improvements and the development of legal know-how
Key Requirements
- Law degree or equivalent legal qualification
- Previous paralegal or legal assistant experience
- Exposure to construction law is advantageous but not essential
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with non-legal stakeholders
