Opportunity to shape a growing data function. This role is focused on strong fundamentals in data design and modelling, rather than years of title. They're looking for someone who understands how to structure and govern data effectively over the long term.

What they're looking for:

  • Strong experience in data modelling (3NF highly desirable)
  • Good understanding of data architecture and governance principles
  • Experience working across multiple systems and methodologies
  • Comfortable working in a tech-agnostic environment
  • Exposure to tools such as Erwin, Sparx or Collibra
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

The role is weighted towards soft skills (around 70%), alongside hands-on design thinking. You'll help shape architectural direction, working closely with delivery teams while providing oversight on standards and approach. There's a focus on building towards a centralised data platform, offering the chance to contribute to something still evolving. This won't suit someone looking to move directly from Data Engineering into architecture - they need someone with proven experience applying core design principles.

Location: Hybrid, 2 days per week in office (some flexibility possible)

Salary: £65,000- £75,000

Benefits include:

  • 30 days annual leave
  • Up to 14% employer pension contribution
  • Life assurance (4x salary)
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Wellbeing support and Perkbox
  • Subsidised on-site restaurant
  • Season ticket loan and cycle to work scheme

Process: Competency-based interview with a mix of structured and informal discussion.
