What you’ll be doing
- Take day-to-day responsibility for health and safety within the roofing business, covering projects throughout the UK.
- Provide additional health and safety support and guidance across the wider group of three businesses.
- Maintain compliance with current health and safety legislation and help improve systems, policies and performance.
- Carry out site audits, monitor KPIs and follow up actions through to completion.
- Lead incident investigations and make sure corrective actions are put in place.
- Promote a strong safety culture through site engagement, training and close working with employees, clients and subcontractors.
- Support projects ranging in value from £10,000 to £1.5 million across roofing, cladding, waterproofing, refurbishment and new-build work.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience as a Health & Safety Manager within the construction industry.
- Roofing, cladding, facades or waterproofing experience would be an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident working with employees, clients and subcontractors at all levels.
- Good planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and deliverables.
- Competent using Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence.
This role would suit a Construction Health & Safety Manager, SHEQ Manager, HSQE Manager or Safety Manager with experience in specialist roofing, flat roofing, single-ply systems, sheeting, cladding, facades, liquid-applied waterproofing or waterproofing membranes.
