You will be joining a well-established organization operating within the construction industry, managing one of their projects/sites based in North London. The business has a strong operational footprint and is focused on maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
Location: Site-based role, requiring you to be on site 5 days a week. The position is a 3‑month rolling contract and starts immediately.
Your new role
As Interim Health & Safety Manager, you will take a lead role in overseeing all HSE activity on site. This is a hands‑on position requiring regular engagement with operational teams to drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day health, safety and environmental performance
- Undertake site inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Review and update RAMS
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Support site leadership in continuous HSE improvement
- Liaise with regulatory bodies including the HSE and Environment Agency
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager role within construction or heavy industrial environments
- Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential)
- NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma
- Experience working in operational, UK site‑based environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- A proactive, practical and solutions‑focused approach
- Availability to start at short notice
