SALARY: £13.45hr

DURATION: 12 weeks initially to go to Perm

Our client is one of the largest Social Housing providers in the South of England. They are ambitious and have a huge 5‑year plan which we are seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to assist with. Their main aim is to create a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes and investing in existing ones, creating vibrant, thriving communities.

The Role

  • Responsible for the delivery of the Grounds Maintenance service to the communal areas of our clients managed estates.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the external communal areas, grass, shrubs and hedges and soft landscaping/minor tree work.
  • Using a PDA Reporting system to record site visits and record tasks carried out.
  • To include grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning, weed control, litter picking, and other works.
  • Ensuring that equipment is regularly washed, kept clean and in good condition and reporting any defects to the supervisor.
  • Assisting all other trades as and when required, ensuring that customers receive a high‑quality service.

Candidate Needs

  • Experience in a similar role or trade background, preferably with experience of Grounds Maintenance.
  • Knowledge and skills in the use of both mechanical and hand tools used in grounds maintenance operations.
  • An understanding of customer needs and ability to think quickly when needed.
  • To behave in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Great communication skills.
  • A clean Driving Licence (with towing ability DESIRABLE).
  • Practical amenity horticultural knowledge.
