Role
- Preparing competitive estimates and tender submissions for waterproofing and groundworks packages
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Producing accurate cost plans, bills of quantities, and take‑offs
- Managing the commercial aspects of projects from award through to final account
- Preparing valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Managing variations and change control procedures
- Procuring subcontractors and suppliers while negotiating favourable terms
- Monitoring project costs, cash flow, and commercial performance
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
- Supporting senior management with commercial reporting and forecasting
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or dual QS/Estimator within the construction industry
- Experience within waterproofing, groundworks, civils, concrete structures, or specialist subcontracting would be highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial procedures, and cost management
- Excellent estimating and analytical skills
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and live projects simultaneously
- High level of commercial awareness and attention to detail
- A proactive and solutions‑focused approach
