An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading multinational civil engineering contractor delivering a high‑profile, landmark infrastructure project in Glasgow. This is a key commercial leadership role on a complex, long‑term scheme that will have lasting regional significance, offering exposure to major stakeholders, cutting‑edge delivery methods, and long‑term career progression within a global organisation.

The Role

  • Full commercial management of civil engineering works packages
  • Procurement and contract administration of subcontractors
  • Management of change, compensation events, and variations
  • Cost forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
  • Ensuring robust commercial governance and compliance with company procedures

About You

  • You will be an experienced commercially focused professional with a strong background in heavy civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on large civil or infrastructure schemes
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
  • Background with Tier 1 or large regional civil engineering contractors
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • MRICS or working towards professional qualification (desirable)
