This role is a fixed‑term contract (9 months) based in Glasgow, with a hybrid schedule of two days in office. Candidates may also be considered for remote work if they possess financial services experience.

As Operational Risk Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Governance team, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to identify, assess, monitor and manage operational risks. You will support the development of a robust risk culture by ensuring effective risk assessment, reporting, control testing and mitigation activities are embedded throughout the organisation.
- Overseeing the rollout and implementation of a new Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system, ensuring successful adoption, improving risk reporting capabilities, enhancing data quality, and integrating risk management processes into day‑to‑day operations.
- Leading the continuous improvement of operational risk monitoring and reporting, conducting gap analyses, developing key risk indicators, and providing insight into emerging and existing risks.
- Preparing reports and presentations for senior leadership and governance committees to inform strategic decision‑making and business planning activities.
You should have previous experience working within a risk management environment, ideally within financial services, insurance, healthcare or another regulated sector. A solid understanding of operational risk frameworks and comfort engaging with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation are essential. A degree or relevant professional qualification is desirable, alongside membership of a professional body such as the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) or Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
Experience leading or supporting the implementation of a GRC system, risk management software or a similar business‑critical platform would be highly advantageous. You will possess excellent analytical, report‑writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to a range of audiences. A proactive mindset, strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively will be key to your success.
