Job DescriptionElectrical Maintenance Engineer Covering 2 Site - Gateshead / Durham £40,000 - £45,000 Days / Monday - Friday (Flexi Start & Finish Time) Overtime Available We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business operating across two sites in the North East. This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrically biased engineer who is looking to move into a permanent days-based position, while still having access to overtime at an enhanced rate. The successful engineer will work within a busy manufacturing environment, maintaining a range of automated production equipment and supporting the continued reliability and performance of the sites.
The Role
- Planned and reactive electrical maintenance
- Electrical fault finding and troubleshooting
- PLC fault finding, including Siemens and Schneider systems
- Panel wiring and panel building
- Fault finding on sensors, relays, drives, inverters and motors
- Maintenance of automated production machinery
- Working with palletising equipment and robotic systems
- Diagnosing breakdowns and reducing production downtime
- Supporting continuous improvement and machinery reliability
- Working across two manufacturing sites within the North East
- Ensuring all engineering work is completed safely and efficiently
The Candidate
- Minimum 5 years' engineering experience
- Strong electrical maintenance background
- Previous experience within manufacturing or a similar industrial environment
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical engineering qualification
- HNC Electrical Engineering would be advantageous
- PLC fault-finding experience
- Experience with motors, drives, inverters, sensors and relays
- Experience working with automated machinery
- Panel wiring experience
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsExperience with Siemens or Schneider PLCs, robotics, palletisers or highly automated production equipment would be particularly advantageous.
