Job Description Assembly Operator Location: Gateshead Rate of Pay: £13.01 - £13.89 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Monday 07.30 – 16.00 Tuesday to Thursday 07.45 – 16.00 and Friday 07.45 – 15.00. Full-time, permanent opportunity. An established and growing manufacturing business is looking to recruit an Assembly Operator to join its production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in producing high-quality products, and wants to join a supportive and professional working environment.
The Role
As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for the construction and assembly of a wide range of products, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and to a high standard. Your duties will include:
- Constructing and assembling a variety of products from technical drawings.
- Using a range of hand and power tools, including table saws and wall saws.
- Reading and interpreting engineering or production drawings.
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure finished products meet specification.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area.
What We\'re Looking For
- Previous assembly or manufacturing experience. Experience using hand tools and workshop machinery such as table saws and wall saws (desirable).
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings (advantageous).
- Excellent manual dexterity and practical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
