Example Recruitment Group is currently recruiting on behalf of a heating contractor operating within the local authority sector. They require self-employed heating engineers for an ongoing contract with a local housing association.
Contract Details:
Location: Birmingham
Contract: Housing Association
Work Type: Landlord Gas Safety Checks and Central Heating Repairs
Commitment: Minimum 3 days per week
Contract Length: Ongoing
Payment terms: Weekly one week in arrears.
Rates:
- £23.48 per Landlord Gas Safety Record
- £30.44 per repair (parts provided)
- Plus winter incentive of £40.00 per day if engineer commits to 5 days per week (additional £200.00 per week) effective until end of February 2026

Requirements:
- 2 years of qualified experience as a heating engineer
- ACS Qualifications including CKR1 (Gas Cookers) & HTR1 (Gas Fires)
- Side Van (plain or sign written)
- Gas Safe Registration
- Calibrated Flue Gas Analyser
- £2m Public Liability Insurance
- No unspent criminal convictions
