The Sr. Fuels Project Manager leads firm fixed-price, design-build, and commercial Fuels projects mainly related to Federal Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants (POL) facilities and systems. In addition to preparing high-quality, cost-competitive proposals for new work, the Sr. Project Manager manages all aspects of the project scope (including design, if applicable), schedule, and budget to ensure Bhate’s overall project commitments and financial goals are met.

The Sr. Fuels Project Manager collaborates and engages with various stakeholders, including the Client, the Bhate project team, designers, and subcontractors. The Sr. PM trains and mentors project staff in all aspects of proposal preparation, pre-construction activities, project execution and project closeout activities. The Sr. PM leads construction/fuels POL projects with well-defined work scopes and multiple stakeholder collaboration.

The Sr. PM engages all stakeholders to build trust and aligns stakeholder expectations and relationships. The Sr. PM identifies PM talent among junior to mid-career professionals and encourages their development by providing deliberate, on-the-job mentoring. The Sr. PM has experience managing projects budgeted from $1–$15 M.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineering license, but not mandatory
  • PMP Certification or ability to obtain
  • 8-10 years’ experience in managing firm fixed-price, design-build fuels projects for DOD executing agencies, preferably Air Force
  • API 653 and or API 570 certification a plus
  • Experience with clean, inspect
