Reliability Engineer - AberdeenDon't Just Build It. This is where your work matters most.Our client is a global leader in wireless downhole technology, trusted by the oil and gas industry to deliver precision data from environments most engineers never have to think about.

Their systems don't just have to work, they have to keep working. That's where you come in. They're looking for a Reliability Engineer to join their Aberdeen-based Electronics R&D team, someone who gets under the skin of a failure, understands exactly why it happened, and puts in place the engineering rigour to make sure it never happens again.

Aberdeen - office based with flexible working

Salary range of £40,000 - £60,000

What You'll Be Doing

  • Investigating product and component failures and turning findings into actionable improvements
  • Qualifying electronic components for use in high-reliability, high-temperature applications
  • Identifying obsolescence and supply chain risks before they become operational headaches
  • Supporting PCB manufacturing improvements through hands-on testing of electronics and materials
  • Collaborating across engineering, production and quality to solve real-world reliability challenges
  • Building and maintaining the technical documentation that keeps risk visible and managed

What You'll Bring

  • A degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
  • A background in electronic design or test
  • Sharp analytical thinking and a genuine appetite for problem-solving
  • Clear communication skills as you'll be writing technical reports and influencing across teams

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with failure analysis, accelerated life testing, or high-temperature electronics
  • Knowledge of component packaging, PCB manufacturing or database tools
  • The occasional flexibility to travel
