Full job description Fire & Security Service Engineer

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (Negotiable based on experience)

Type: Full-Time | Permanent

My client is a trusted name in fire and security solutions across South England. Known for their reliability, technical excellence, and customer-first approach, we provide maintenance and servicing for fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, automated gates, barriers, and more. Their long-standing relationships with commercial and residential clients are built on quality, care, and consistency.

My client is expanding their team and looking for a Fire & Security Service Engineer who’s passionate about safety, technology, and customer service.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Servicing and maintaining fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, gates, and barriers
  • Conducting routine inspections and ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults with efficiency and precision
  • Providing technical support to clients and colleagues
  • Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and building strong client relationships
  • Staying up to date with the latest technologies and standards
  • Participating in our emergency on-call rota
  • Occasionally travelling to support clients nationwide

What they are Looking For

  • Proven experience in fire and security systems
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, gates, and barriers
  • Electrical/electronic engineering qualifications
  • FIA or BAFE certification
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive attitude

Bonus Skills (Desirable but Not Essential)

  • Experience with GENT Fire systems
  • Fault-finding skills for gates and barriers
  • IPAF and ECS certifications

Security Clearance Requirements

  • British or Dual (with UK rights obtained before 31 December 2020)
  • Must have lived in the UK for at least 5 of the last 10 years to meet Security Check (SC) clearance requirements under BPSS, NSV, and BS7858 standards.
