One of my top law clients is looking for a Finance Systems Analyst to join their Finance Systems team. The successful candidate will have prior experience working with a legal practice management system - ideally Elite 3E - and experience of SQL Server reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team, offering interesting work alongside strong learning and development opportunities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality first-line support, responding to firmwide queries relating to finance systems including Elite 3E, Chrome River, ARCS 2G, and Power BI.
  • Take responsibility for regular daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and data maintenance.
  • Create and run reports in response to ad-hoc information requests.
  • Deliver ad-hoc training to colleagues to improve skills and awareness of available finance systems tools.
  • Assist with finance and firm-wide projects as required.

About You

You will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong working knowledge of Elite 3E (or a similar legal practice management system), preferably within a first-line support role.
  • A clear understanding of financial processes within a professional services environment.
  • Experience using SQL to extract, transform, and present data for reporting purposes (or a strong willingness to learn).
  • Strong Excel skills for ad-hoc reporting and data presentation.
  • A conscientious, methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • A proactive mindset, with evidence of using initiative to solve problems.
  • A client-focused approach (internal stakeholders) with excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to diagnose and resolve complex system or data issues.

Systems Experience

Desirable experience includes:

  • Legal practice management systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Chrome River or similar expense management systems.
  • Writing SQL for reporting purposes.
  • IntApp Time or other time recording software.
  • MiniSoft ARCS 2G.
