About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a growing engineering business, covering customer sites across the Midlands and surrounding areas. This is a customer-facing role focused on the installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of packaging machinery. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and be confident diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on complex automated equipment. You will work predominantly on-site, providing a high level of technical support while building strong relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission and service packaging machinery at customer sites.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and control-system faults.
- Complete machinery upgrades, modifications and installations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers.
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
- Manage your own workload, travel and customer appointments.
- Work safely and professionally across a range of manufacturing environments.
About You
- Previous Field Service Engineering experience is essential.
- Packaging machinery experience is essential.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience working with automated machinery and control systems.
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Midlands and occasionally further afield.
