If you enjoy creating a well-presented and safe environment, then join the team at St Neots Neurological Centre as a Facilities Manager and become a valued member of the service. As a Facilities Manager, you will work 37.5 hours per week, ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, regularly conducting audits to identify and repair any faults, and planning and responding to planned preventative maintenance and emergency calls. You will be an active member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Registered Manager and working alongside an established team. You will be responsible for all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service and having a proven background with maintenance in similar healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the completion of PPM checks on a daily, weekly, monthly basis and audits when required.
  • Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing all paperwork and tool checks.
  • Reviewing daily work sheets and prioritising tasks accordingly and completing as directed.
  • Providing out of hours assistance if required.
  • Providing support to catering and housekeeping departments on site.
  • Ensuring the service’s facilities, grounds and gardens are maintained.
  • Developing the team through professional records and appraisals as appropriate.
  • Maintaining effective working relationships and responding effectively to poor performance.
  • Ensuring new starters are entered onto the Key Watchman system and keys allocated as necessary.
  • Supervising routine water and electrical mains system testing, and implementing corrective action when necessary.
  • Supervising Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) so that all portable equipment has a current test status.
  • Taking personal responsibility to ensure that work practices and the environment meet Health and Safety at Work legislation and reporting all deficits to management.
  • Feedback to SMT, CG and Health & Safety meetings.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of integrity when communicating with staff, patients, family, carers and other professionals.
  • Maintaining concise records and providing reports as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Experience within a similar role.
  • General building trade experience.
  • Ability to paint and decorate.
  • Knowledge and experience with hand tools.
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical, mechanical and building maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience of using computer-based programmes.
  • Knowledge of COSHH, SSOW, risk assessments and Health & Safety at Work.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with ward and department staff and visitors.
