Butler Rose is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing international business in the Exeter area in their search for a Supply Chain Manager. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations, including purchasing, import logistics, inventory control, warehouse operations, and distribution. The position plays a vital role in ensuring efficient product flow from European suppliers into the UK and onward to customers. This opportunity would suit an experienced supply chain professional looking to take ownership of a complex, international operation with strong exposure to import/export processes and stakeholder management across multiple locations.
The Role
- Lead and manage supply chain operations across purchasing, logistics, warehousing, and distribution
- Oversee stock control, forecasting, and inventory optimisation to ensure availability while minimising waste
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, hauliers, and warehouses
- Coordinate imports from Europe into the UK, ensuring full compliance with customs regulations
- Act as the key point of contact for customer supply chain queries and delivery requirements
- Work closely with international suppliers to manage stock availability, shipments, and product launches
- Monitor transport costs and contribute to budget management and cost optimisation
- Support continuous improvement across supply chain processes and systems
About You
- Proven experience in a supply chain management role within FMCG
- Strong knowledge of import/export processes and customs compliance
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers and external suppliers
- Confident working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset
- Experience managing or influencing teams both remotely and on-site
Benefits
- £55,000 - £63,000 depending on experience
- Discretionary bonus of up to 15%
