QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER – EXETER
Location: Exeter, Devon | Sector: Civil Engineering / Groundworks | Start: Immediate / ASAP | Competitive Rate – Depending on Experience
We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join a major construction project in Exeter. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining quality standards across the groundworks and civil engineering package.
Scope of works includes:
- Groundworks
- Reinforced concrete slabs
- Foundations
- Drainage and underground services
- Concrete works
- Excavations and backfilling
- Associated civil engineering works
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain project QA/QC procedures
- Prepare and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Complete and maintain quality records and inspection documentation
- Carry out inspections of works against drawings, specifications and ITP requirements
- Manage concrete records, pour documentation and associated quality checks
- Monitor drainage, foundations, reinforcement and slab installations
- Raise, manage and close out NCRs
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Site Management and subcontractors
- Ensure works comply with project specifications, drawings and relevant standards
- Compile handover and quality assurance documentation
- Maintain accurate records throughout the project
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous QA/Quality Engineering experience within construction or civil engineering
- Strong groundworks and reinforced concrete experience
- Good understanding of foundations, slabs and drainage
- Experience producing and managing ITPs and quality records
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work closely with site teams
