Recruit4staff is representing a leading Manufacturing / Service company in Shropshire for an Engineering Manager position. The role reports to the Service Manager and involves leading the engineering department to support the wider business.

The role – Engineering Manager

We are looking for an organized, technically sound professional with an engineering background, ideally within the crane / lifting equipment industry.

The Duties – Engineering Manager

• Detailed and process‑driven work to hit the ground running in a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and inspire change.
• Managing and coordinating the engineering department and workload.
• Defining, measuring and reporting on department KPIs.
• Supporting and implementing the business strategy.
• Management and development of works instructions.
• Technical troubleshooting.
• Working with the sales team to deliver customer requirements.
• Pricing and cost control within the department.
• Monitoring and complying with standards, compliance advisers, regulations, and accreditation bodies.

Qualifications / Requirements

• HND or Degree level in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ideally 10+ years of experience within the commercial vehicle industry.
• Experience managing teams.
• Excellent technical knowledge.
• Good IT skills, including MS Office and SAP ERP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident and comfortable interfacing with other departments and stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, capable of working under pressure, and able to operate with minimal supervision.
• Good team player, flexible with tasks performed.
