Job Description

Electrical Engineer (Maintenance)

Responsibilities

  • Summary of duties: Electrical installations within both commercial and domestic properties. Planned and Reactive Electrical Service & Maintenance. 1 and 3 phase power installations. EICR Electrical Testing. Energy-saving LED lighting upgrades.
  • Attend service and reactive breakdowns to fault find, diagnose and repair in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Carry out the day-to-day responsive maintenance, service and repairs as instructed.
  • Make immediate decisions as regards the repair requirements if the original job order does not reflect the actual works required and inform the relevant director.
  • Inform the customer (with reason) when it is not possible to complete a repair within the first visit and arrange to return to complete, informing the relevant director.
  • Direct helpers engaged in assembly or installation of air conditioning systems or components.
  • Liaise with management and/or client to ensure all works are completed.

Qualifications

  • Required: City & Guilds BS7671:2018 Level 3 – Electrical Installations
  • City & Guilds 2391 (2391-52) – Testing and Inspecting (previously 2394/2395)
  • Review after probationary period.
  • Overtime at time and a half. OOH Call out rota – 1 in 6-8 weeks paid £100 standby, attended call out 1st hour £40; additional hours @ time and a half.
  • Paid door to door less 30 minutes travel and 1 hour lunch per day.
  • 23 days annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays.
  • NEST pension scheme.
