The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer to join an established and growing building services consultancy, with the option to be based from either its London or Reading office.
You'll join a talented MEP team working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK and internationally, with the opportunity to take ownership of electrical design packages and work closely with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
The role
- Developing electrical designs from concept through to detailed design and construction.
- Producing calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
- Delivering electrical engineering solutions across a variety of building projects.
- Working closely with architects, developers, contractors and other consultants.
- Supporting projects through tender and construction stages.
- Reviewing designs and providing technical solutions to project challenges.
- Working within BIM/3D modelling environments.
- Incorporating energy efficiency and sustainability into design solutions.
- Managing technical deliverables and project deadlines.
- At Senior Engineer level, you'll also have the opportunity to lead electrical packages, manage client relationships and support the development of junior engineers.
About you
We're looking for an Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer with experience in building services consultancy. You'll ideally have:
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
- Previous experience within an MEP/building services consultancy.
- Strong electrical design experience.
- Experience working across different project stages.
- Good knowledge of UK standards and regulations.
- Experience with electrical calculations and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with BIM and 3D design environments.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.
- For the Senior position, experience in project leadership, client liaison and mentoring junior engineers would be advantageous.
- Chartered status or a willingness to work towards professional accreditation is desirable.
