You’ll take ownership of electrical control systems as a trusted technical lead while developing the commercial, planning, and stakeholder skills required to grow into a project management career. Bainbridge are an established and highly regarded electrical company based on the edge of the English Lake District. Working across electrical, fire and security, testing and inspection, control systems and automation and data, Bainbridge is a dynamic, multi-discipline company providing high quality service and support. Carrying out a wide variety of electrical work for commercial and industrial customers, predominantly in the South Lakes and North Lancashire area, this position is ideal for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys variety.
Key responsibilities- Liaise with customers to develop and propose engineering solutions to customer requirements
- Full delivery and commissioning of control systems and instrumentation
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including all aspects of Health and Safety on a project
- Production of drawings and documentation for control systems/electrical systems
- Fault find if required on existing control systems or provide technical assistance to site staff
- Completion of safety documentation, prestart check lists and point of work risk assessments
- The accurate completion of in-house compliance documentation
- Ensure that all accidents/incidents and near misses are reported within the Company guidelines
- Carry out all work activities safely and in line RAMS and in line with training
- Completion of electrical isolations for all relevant works
- At least five years relevant professional experience in an engineering/manufacturing role
- A relevant electrical engineering qualification
- Control, automation, and instrumentation experience
- Experience in fault finding of and repair of machine control systems
- Health and safety awareness and the ability to produce method statements and risk assessments
- Experience of organising and running projects
- The ability to prioritise work and work to deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The confidence and ability to work unsupervised
- An appetite to learn new skills working on industrial installations, control systems and instrumentation
- The ability to work well within a team
- Previous experience in control panel design/modifications
- Experience in the production of electrical CAD drawings and designing control systems
- Normal working hours are 40 hrs per week Monday to Friday but there may be the need to work outside these hours throughout the week and occasionally at weekends
- Your salary will be based on your qualifications and experience
- Ideal candidates would live in or around the Cumbria/Lancashire area
