Electrical Architect in Stevenage

Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Architect to join our client on a contract basis in Stevenage (optionally Bristol/Bolton, 3 days onsite). The role lasts six months. Hours: 37 per week. Hourly rate: £60‑£85 via Umbrella, within IR35. Full SC clearance required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Design the electrical architecture and requirements for missiles and/or launcher systems.
• Specify and determine system electrical requirements, interface definitions, and characteristics between subsystems/equipment.
• Develop power budgets, power profiles, and power architecture.
• Define data communication and processing architecture requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, shielding, and signal safety.
• Support test and fault‑finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification, and integration.
• Review and author reports, guidelines, and processes.
• Conduct design assessments and analysis.
• Work to defence/industry standards and attend supporting design reviews.

Qualifications

• Electrical/electronic engineering experience designing electronic systems.
• Knowledge of interface definitions and defence/industry standards.
• Degree‑level qualification in a related subject.
• Experience in systems engineering and writing technical reports.
• Defence‑related background preferred, but experience in other engineering industries is also considered.
