We are seeking a skilled Electrical Production & Prototype Wiring Technician to join our client's production team. This is a hands‑on role focused on the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels, enclosures, and interconnecting cables for special‑purpose equipment. You will work to a high manufacturing standard, using electrical drawings and build procedures, and contribute to both prototype and production builds. Training will be provided where required. Occasional travel to customer sites may be necessary, and you will be expected to represent the company professionally at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day electro‑mechanical wiring and assembly
- Build electrical sub‑assemblies and complete systems to drawings and build procedures
- Read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics accurately
- Build electrical control panels and enclosures from scratch, including mechanical assembly
- Drill, tap, and install panel components such as relays, terminal blocks, power supplies, and other hardware
- Carry out high‑quality crimping, soldering, wiring, looming, labeling, and cable assembly
- Assemble and terminate cable looms and harnesses using various connector types
- Inspect and test completed electrical assemblies
- Conduct final electrical / electronic inspection and complete associated documentation
- Support installation and commissioning activities at customer sites when required
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Work effectively with minimal supervision while contributing positively within a team
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in control panel wiring and machine wiring
- Strong practical electrical knowledge with the ability to read and work from schematics and engineering drawings
- High‑standard crimping, soldering, terminating, and loom harness assembly experience
- Confident use of hand tools and measuring devices in a safe and competent manner
- Excellent hand‑eye coordination and strong attention to detail
- Logical problem‑solving skills and sound decision‑making ability
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Good communication skills and a practical, common‑sense approach to work
Qualifications
