Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced EC&I Project Engineer in a highly respected engineering and technical services organisation supporting the UK nuclear power sector.

Based at Heysham, you will work within a well‑established project engineering team, supporting major projects across the nuclear fleet while developing your engineering and leadership capabilities through mentoring and ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation, quality plans, and technical specifications.
  • Manage technical queries in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support contractor selection and contract placement activities.
  • Review contractor drawings and technical documentation.
  • Conduct technical appraisals and feasibility studies.
  • Carry out site surveys and liaise with designers and station engineering teams.
  • Prepare Engineering Changes and support associated documentation.
  • Produce commissioning documentation and act as Test Team Leader where appropriate.
  • Support project delivery to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and effectively.

About You

  • HND, Degree, or Chartered Engineer status in a relevant discipline.
  • SMSTS qualification.
  • Experience delivering projects within highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of CDM and construction project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Formal project management qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Experience within nuclear, power, or similar industries is beneficial but not essential.
