We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Building Manager to oversee a high-end commercial development based in East Grinstead (RH19). This is an excellent opportunity for a professional building manager to deliver high standards of service, compliance, and operational excellence to commercial tenants, visitors, contractors, and on-site staff. This role requires a proactive, people-focused individual who can build strong professional relationships with tenants and stakeholders, while maintaining a consistently high standard of professionalism, courtesy, and service. The successful candidate will act as the first and primary point of contact for commercial tenants, staff, and contractors, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the building.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for all commercial tenants, providing day-to-day support and issue resolution.
- Manage all hard and soft services contracts, ensuring service delivery meets agreed SLAs and KPIs.
- Oversee and manage major projects and works on site, coordinating contractors and stakeholders.
- Take overall responsibility for health and safety, statutory compliance, and building regulations.
- Manage and operate the on-site Permit to Work system for all internal and external contractors.
- Organise, chair, and lead tenant meetings, ensuring clear communication and effective follow-up.
- Schedule and oversee reactive maintenance works, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
- Compile, manage, and monitor the annual building and service charge budget.
- Raise purchase orders and approve invoices in line with company financial procedures.
- Produce and distribute monthly tenant newsletters and building communications.
- Monitor and manage all on-site contractors, ensuring safe working practices and high-quality standards.
Experience and skills required:
- Proven experience in commercial or corporate building management or facilities management.
- Strong experience delivering high-quality customer service within a commercial environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing contracts, budgets, contractors, and building projects.
- A solid understanding of health and safety, fire safety, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Hours: Monday to Friday (10 hours daily)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
