Teaching Fellow in Civil Engineering

Full-time, 35 hours per week
Fixed Term β 1 year
Reporting to the Head of Department , you will provide excellent teaching to our students, developing and delivering content as well as managing modules. Your expertise and a collegiate approach to working with others will contribute to the success and smooth running of our programmes, and continued excellence in our teaching provision.
Given our research-teaching linkages, and the content of our degree pathways, we are looking for an individual who could teach across the civil engineering curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate level within our Construction, Engineering and Environment programmes.
We take pride in our approach to teaching which emphasises the importance of engaging students in active learning through a combination of lectures, tutorials, laboratory practicals and workshops, affording opportunities for skill enhancement. With an applied focus, our interest is in developing competent professionals who can engage in critical discussion and debate, and who have the potential to become the leaders of tomorrow in their chosen field.
The role requires an individual who can communicate civil engineering to a diverse student body in a variety of standard and innovative formats.
You will be a team player committed to the success and development of our department and our students, collaborating effectively across the team to share practice. You will have a motivation to engage with evidence-based teaching practices and research and will be effective at managing your schedule.
