We are recruiting for a Field Mechanical Technician to join a hands-on operational team supporting the maintenance, repair and installation of industrial mechanical systems across multiple sites. This is a practical, field-based role working on pumps, rotating equipment and mechanical handling systems. You will be involved in fault finding, breakdown response, strip-down/rebuild activities and planned maintenance work in varied operational environments. No formal qualifications are required - we are looking for strong practical mechanical ability, problem-solving skills and a willingness to work in challenging field conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems on site
  • Diagnose faults and support breakdown response activities
  • Strip down, rebuild and repair pumps, motors and industrial equipment
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks
  • Work across multiple sites in field-based environments
  • Support workshop-based repair and refurbishment when required
  • Work safely in outdoor, confined space and operational environments
  • Record job activity using mobile systems and documentation tools
  • Support on-call / emergency response rota

What we're looking for

  • Strong hands-on mechanical experience (not necessarily qualified)
  • Experience working with tools, plant, machinery or industrial equipment
  • Ability to fault find and problem solve in practical situations
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding outdoor environments
  • Safety conscious approach to all work activities
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable (NOT essential)

  • Experience with pumps, hydraulics or rotating equipment
  • Confined Space / Manual Handling / Lifting experience
  • Background in maintenance, plant or field service roles
