The role:

As a Design Manager, you'll be working within my client's established Design team, supporting them on projects across a variety of different sectors such as leisure, commercial, education, and residential. They are an established regional Contractor.

Your duties will include but aren't limited to:

  • Management and delivery of design information in accordance with the agreed design programme and deliverable schedule
  • Ensuring that appointed design consultants carry out their duties in line with their appointment, interrogating returns to ensure compliance with standards and brief
  • Ensuring your team deliver on their package for the overall benefit of the project
  • Design input at both preconstruction and construction stage of projects
  • The production of design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrices, appointments, schedules
  • Attending/chairing necessary meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders

What is expected from you:

  • Experience working for a Tier 1/2 Main Contractor as a Design Manager
  • Deliver a project from Design onto site until handover
  • Experience working on similar projects (Education, Healthcare and Commercial) for projects valued £10m-£20m
