Position Summary
The PET / Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals, PET, CT, and Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment to evaluate the body’s internal structures and functions. This role is responsible for preparing and administering radioactive materials, ensuring patient safety and comfort, operating advanced imaging technology, and maintaining radiation safety standards across multiple outpatient imaging locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform PET and Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
- Operate PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment
- Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures and ensure patient comfort
- Maintain radiation safety and infection control standards
- Perform quality assurance and equipment checks as required
- Document patient information and imaging procedures accurately
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare staff to ensure quality patient care
- Float between multiple outpatient imaging locations as needed
- Adhere to all department and facility safety protocols
Education & Experience Requirements
- NJDEP State License required
- CPR certification required
- ARRT(CT) or NMTCB/CT Fusion Modality certification required
- ARRT(N) or NMTCB(N) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of PET / Nuclear Medicine experience
- Experience operating PET/CT imaging equipment
