Attega Group is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and expanding building services provider, for an experienced Contracts & Small Works Manager to join their Northern team based in Halifax. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong HVAC / Mechanical Services / Hard FM background who enjoys managing contracts, delivering projects, and building long-term client relationships.
You’ll play a key role in overseeing service delivery, managing engineers and subcontractors, pricing works, and delivering small works projects.
The RoleAs Contracts & Small Works Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth delivery of existing service contracts while identifying and developing new opportunities across the Northern region. You’ll manage projects from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring quality, compliance, commercial performance and excellent customer service throughout.
Typical projects may include:- Boiler replacements
- Plant room upgrades
- Air conditioning installations
- Chiller replacements
- HVAC system upgrades
- Commercial combustion works
- Manage a portfolio of commercial maintenance and service contracts
- Oversee planned, reactive and quoted works delivery
- Price, quote, plan and deliver small works projects up to £50k
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Support growth through identifying and winning new opportunities
- Manage engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
- Procure materials and subcontract packages within budget
- Monitor project costs, margins and commercial performance
- Carry out site visits, progress meetings and service reviews
- Ensure works are completed safely and compliantly
- Produce quotations, reports, scopes of works and management information
- Support continuous improvement across operations and customer service
- Experience managing commercial HVAC / Hard FM contracts
- Strong knowledge of small works project delivery
- Experience overseeing engineers and subcontractors
- Good commercial awareness and cost control skills
- Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
- IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Full UK Driving Licence
- HVAC bias with Air Conditioning / Chillers experience
- Mechanical Services knowledge
- Commercial Gas / Combustion understanding
- Framework or contract experience
