We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of diesel-powered buses. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in keeping vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready, ensuring our drivers and passengers get where they need to go without interruption.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and coach-related components of over-the-road buses
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and brakes
- Maintain accurate records of all service work performed
- Follow all safety procedures and company protocols
- Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and the maintenance manager regarding vehicle status and repair timelines
- Stay up to date on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably on buses, trucks, or heavy-duty vehicles
- Own your own basic shop tools - specialty and shop tools provided
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to obtain a CDL – we’ll help cover the cost
- Must be able to do shift work – including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, stand for long periods, and work under vehicles
- ASE certifications
