Automation Engineer (Roller Shutters & Doors)

  • Location: South London – Field Based
  • Salary: Β£48,000 per annum
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
  • Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

A leading engineering services organisation is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer (Roller Shutters & Doors) to join its growing field service team. Operating across a range of commercial and residential environments, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing automated access systems while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend reactive breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain automatic doors, gates, and barrier systems.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing activities.
  • Install and commission automated access equipment.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspections, and technical assessments.
  • Complete accurate service reports and maintenance records.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain timesheets and job documentation to company standards.
  • Participate in an on-call rota and undertake overtime when required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • ADSA or ADIA accreditation.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with automatic doors, gates, barriers, or related automation equipment.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
  • Strong fault-finding and technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • Flexible and professional approach to service delivery.
