Job Description
Houlry rate: £Competitive INISDE IR35 ORGANISATION CHART: Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, Direct Reports - Section Leaders.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: We are currently recruiting a Shift Production Supervisor to work at our established site in Coventry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and developing an environment where safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale are paramount.
You will strive to continually improve our processes using CI and Lean tools to reduce costs, improve production and quality and ensure smooth launch and pre-production builds for our customers.
- MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the management of change within the plant to provide continuous improvement and standardization.
- Manage Section Leaders to ensure they are working to standard, and driving adherence to KPIs in their respective areas.
- Ensure robust transfer of process from launch/pre-production builds into mainline operations.
- Provide robust feedback to engineering, quality and production for any pre-production issues, drive ownership of containment and permanent corrective actions.
- Champion improvements to 5S, continuous process flow, ergonomics and one-piece flow working.
- Identify and implement cost reduction and cost saving ideas using Kaizen tools as a support mechanism
- Keep daily production KPI’s in control using management boards and production running documents
- Using controlled escalation methods to highlight issues to the customer and senior management team should arise
- Drive TIC engagement and support TIC teams with their projects.
- Conduct 5s walks, Layered Process audits and safety walks to identify & action improvement opportunities.
