What you’ll do:

  • Deliver technical expertise in environmental permitting across a range of projects
  • Lead and manage permit applications, risk assessments, and regulatory submissions
  • Oversee environmental projects, ensuring delivery to time, budget, and quality standards
  • Support and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and review
  • Interpret environmental monitoring data and produce clear, accurate reports
  • Liaise with clients, regulators (e.g. Environment Agency), and other stakeholders
  • Advise clients on environmental legislation and compliance requirements
  • Manage site-based activities including inspections and environmental monitoring
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary project work and complex environmental assessments
  • Support business development, proposals, and client relationship management

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Proven experience in Environmental Permitting and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations, PPC, and Waste Management Licensing
  • Experience within waste management and/or industrial sectors (e.g. landfill, treatment, recovery, hazardous waste)
  • Ability to prepare and review permit applications, risk assessments, and technical reports
  • Experience interpreting environmental monitoring data
  • Strong project management skills, including delivering to time and budget
  • Experience liaising with regulators (e.g. Environment Agency), clients, and stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to mentor or support junior team members (Senior/Principal level)
  • Relevant degree in an environmental or scientific discipline
  • Professional membership (e.g. CIWM) desirable
  • Full UK driving licence
