This role is to provide an effective maintenance, repair, and construction service throughout the company to minimise building defects, reduce downtime, and maximise regular maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Respond quickly to emergency situations.
- Perform routine maintenance on production equipment and repair when necessary.
- Work late hours, overnight, and weekends as required.
- Provide customer service and relate with diverse people.
- Use critical thinking to identify and resolve problems.
- Carry out an intensive program of planned preventive maintenance for all company buildings and utilities.
- Maintain full, accurate, and timely maintenance logs, schedules, etc. to comply with Health and Safety legislation and company, insurance, ISO requirements.
- Contact external contractors as required and accompany/assist them while on site.
- Ensure adequate supplies of spares on site for commonly used parts or those with long lead time.
- Create and continuously update technical files for plant and equipment from liaison with suppliers, operators, or own knowledge.
- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly health and safety checks and inspections and take timely corrective action.
- Report problems and unsafe practices to relevant supervisors and Health and Safety, together with recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure quality procedures relating to maintenance are followed, e.g., calibration of measuring equipment.
- Communicate process changes to relevant parties so that follow‑up may be carried out, e.g., training.
- Ensure full and timely reporting of all major breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays, or machine downtime to relevant personnel.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary to clarify technical details and overcome problems.
- Any other reasonable duties or project work which may be required by management from time to time.
