Job Description
Commercial Intelligence & Client Insight Manager4-Month Fixed-Term Contract
A leading specialist professional services organisation is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Commercial Intelligence & Client Insight Manager for a newly created 4-month fixed-term role.
Working with senior leadership and key stakeholders, the successful candidate will lead a pilot project to develop a more data-led approach to client insight, market intelligence, and growth strategy.
This is a strategic, hands‑on role focused on turning complex data and market intelligence into clear commercial opportunities and practical recommendations.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Lead a commercial intelligence pilot focused on a key market, jurisdiction or practice area.
- Analyse client, revenue, market and competitor data to identify growth opportunities, risks and relationship gaps.
- Develop frameworks to prioritise key clients, law firms, sectors and markets.
- Gather insight from stakeholders to complement quantitative analysis with real‑world market intelligence.
- Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
- Develop a scalable methodology for embedding commercial intelligence more widely across the organisation.
- Deliver a Board‑level report and implementation roadmap at the end of the project.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be:
- Highly analytical, commercially minded and naturally curious.
- Experienced in strategy, commercial analysis, market intelligence, consulting, business development, revenue operations or a related field.
- Comfortable working with large volumes of quantitative and qualitative data.
- Able to identify patterns, opportunities and risks - and turn them into practical action.
- Credible and confident when engaging senior stakeholders.
- Experienced in developing dashboards, reporting tools, prioritisation models or other decision‑support frameworks.
- Comfortable operating independently in a newly created and evolving role.
Previous experience in the legal, construction or professional services sectors is not essential. However, the successful candidate will need to quickly develop a strong understanding of the organisation's markets, clients, services and routes to market.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to build a new commercial intelligence capability from the ground up, with significant autonomy and direct exposure to senior decision‑makers.
The role is initially offered on a 4-month fixed-term basis, with the potential to develop into a longer‑term or permanent position, subject to the success of the project and future business requirements.
