Overview
NMS Recruit are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to move into a Senior Implementation Consultant role (Construction Software / Finance). The role is suitable for quantity surveyors or finance/accounting professionals within the construction industry who are looking to take on a new challenge with a growing and personable financial software business.
Job purpose: To help UK construction businesses deliver projects more smoothly and predictably, and to help the team grow while doing it. You will lead technology change that improves finance and support the digital transformation of construction, partnering with commercial, site and finance teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead change management and stakeholder engagement, mapping current versus future processes, building buy-in, and guiding teams through adoption. Facilitate clear decision-making across commercial, finance, operations and site leadership. Plan communications and training tailored to different audiences (project accountants, QSs, site managers, finance teams).
- Own end-to-end delivery: scoping, solution design, configuration, testing, training, go-live and hypercare. Run project rhythms (kick-offs, show-and-tells, risk reviews), manage RAID logs, and keep delivery on time and on budget. Build practical dashboards and reporting to support day-to-day decision-making.
- Act as a trusted advisor on project accounting, subcontractor management, procurement, valuations and contract administration. Translate real-world construction needs into robust system designs and simple, usable workflows. Measure outcomes (adoption, cycle times, reporting accuracy) and iterate to deliver lasting results.
- Provide technical oversight to guide configuration across core areas (projects/job costing, contracts, purchasing, AP/AR, time & expenses, cash management). Oversee data migration with a focus on integrity and reconciliation. Coordinate integrations with common UK construction tools (e.g., Procore, Autodesk/Build, Eque2, COINS-adjacent, field time-tracking, AP automation). Be hands-on when needed for configuration and data migration tasks to unblock the team and keep delivery moving.
- Training provided on Sage Intacct Construction and support certification once onboard.
- Lead people management and contribute to practice development: direct line management for junior consultants (typically 1β3), regular 1:1s, objective setting, delivery coaching, performance reviews, and wellbeing support. Mentor across the wider team and contribute to playbooks, templates and training. Conduct value-led demos and discovery; shape statements of work and estimates; contribute to presales and marketing content. Present at customer forums and collaborate with partners.
Qualifications
- Essential experience: knowledge of UK construction accounting and commercial processes (CIS, valuations, applications for payment, retentions, variations, WIP, subcontractor management). Strong change management skills (stakeholder engagement, communications planning, training and adoption). Confident project management (scoped delivery, budgeting, RAID, and clear status reporting across multiple projects). Ability to translate operational needs into clear, usable system designs and reports. Excellent communication, facilitation and documentation skills; comfortable working with executives and site teams. Collaborative mindset with a focus on customer success and measurable outcomes.
- Nice to have: line-management experience of junior consultants or coaching/mentoring with readiness to manage direct reports. Proven experience implementing construction-related software (ERP/finance, project controls, cost management, or field/project management). Experience with integrations between finance/ERP and field/project tools. Exposure to UK GAAP, HMRC reporting and MTD. Prior experience with Sage Intacct Construction.
