Join Our Team as an Electrician!
Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun (On‑site, with attendance at a recruitment day in Glasgow required)
Salary: £38,662.00 (plus potential additional shift allowance of 33%)
Your Mission: As an Electrician at BAE Systems, you will be at the heart of our innovative projects, contributing to the installation of cutting‑edge electrical systems on state‑of‑the‑art naval vessels. Your expertise will help us deliver eight Type 26 frigates to the Royal Navy, ensuring the security and defence of nations worldwide.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Installing a variety of cables (multi‑core, single core, co‑axial) and electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches, etc.)
- Terminating cables and installing all electrical equipment
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Collaborating with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of installations
- Ensuring all work complies with safety and quality standards
Your Skills and Experience:
- Completed a Modern Apprenticeship – SVQ 3 or equivalent
- Relevant experience in marine or major industrial installation environments
- Understanding of assessments, Risk, PUWER & COSHH
- Familiarity with relevant trade drawings
- Knowledge of the tag‑out process and correct proving‑dead procedures
- Experience in mounting electrical equipment and components
- Proficient in earthing equipment and terminating cables to skill standards
