This Mechanical Design Engineer role is to join a busy, growing engineering consultancy, where you will be part of a close-knit team of engineers working on a range of sectors including education, retail, MOD and commercial. It’s a team of conscientious engineers who have created a friendly supportive working environment, where you’ll feel at home from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed design drawings with a specialisation in mechanical system design.
  • Preparing technical specifications and schedules and design development reports.
  • Taking projects through from inception to completion and handover.
  • Undertaking survey work.
  • Production of feasibility reports.
  • Attend site progress meetings and review installations.
  • Supporting junior staff.
  • Maintaining good client relationships.
  • Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors.
  • Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint.

Qualifications

  • MEng / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or an accredited building services degree.
  • You will be a mechanical design engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in building services.
  • You will have excellent communication skills.
  • Due to the nature of some of the projects, you must be a permanent UK resident.
