Job Description: Repair & Production Engineer – Castleford

£32,000 – £38,000 + Pension, Life Assurance, 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, Monday to Friday, flexible daytime hours

Overview

An exciting and rapidly growing technology manufacturer is looking for a Repair & Production Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative, cutting‑edge products within a business that is investing heavily in its people, processes and future growth.

Role Description

  • Program, modify and test PCB assemblies (PCBAs) in line with engineering drawings, specifications and defined procedures.
  • Perform electrical and functional testing, including complex PCB‑level fault‑finding and diagnosis.
  • Diagnose and complete component‑level repairs on PCBAs.
  • Carry out final assembly, firmware programming and verification testing prior to product release.
  • Support prototype and pre‑production builds, working closely with R&D teams.
  • Conduct in‑process and final inspections, identifying and reporting non‑conformances.

Skills and Qualifications

  • IPC‑A‑610 certification, or experience working to this standard.
  • Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams for effective fault diagnosis.
  • Strong IT literacy for testing, data entry and recording results within company systems.
  • A proactive mindset with a desire to improve processes, introduce new ideas and continuously develop.
  • Excellent hand‑eye coordination, patience and strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced production environment.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a production or lab environment.
