Working Hours: 08:30-17:00, Monday-Friday

The Role: As Technical Manager, you will take ownership of technical performance across a busy production environment with three production lines and established teams and shifts. You'll be highly visible on the shop floor, working closely with colleagues to drive standards, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will also play a key role in upcoming investment projects, including the introduction of new cooking equipment and emerging technologies, helping to future-proof the site and support new product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the site's technical function, deputising for senior leadership as required
  • Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, supporting and developing teams
  • Drive site standards in food safety, quality, and compliance (including BRC and customer requirements)
  • Manage allergen controls, risk assessments, and foreign body prevention plans
  • Act as a key customer interface, including regular interaction with M&S
  • Conduct GAP analysis and implement improvement plans to address risks and opportunities
  • Support new product development (NPD), including participation in taste panels
  • Host site visits for customers, directors, and auditors, ensuring excellent standards and engagement
  • Deliver training, coaching, and upskilling initiatives across the team
  • Occasionally visit customer sites to strengthen relationships and support technical alignment

About You:

  • Proven experience in a technical or quality leadership role within food manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of BRC standards and retailer requirements
  • Hands-on leadership style with a passion for developing people
  • Experience managing allergens, risk assessments, and food safety systems
  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with customers and stakeholders
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify gaps and drive improvements
  • Interest in innovation, new technologies, and continuous improvement
