Job Description
The Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural steel components according to blueprints and job specifications. This role supports daily planning, material handling, fabrication, and erection activities while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to fabricate and install structural steel components
- Fabricate, cut, bend, weld, and assemble steel and rebar using torches and welding equipment
- Install and secure beams, columns, and girders using bolts, chains, and hoisting equipment
- Operate, inspect, and maintain tools, machinery, and rigging equipment safely
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2-year trade school education
- Minimum of 4 years of structural steel or ironworker experience
- Proficiency with cutting torches and stick/wire welding equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
