Job Description

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Supply Planner on behalf of a leading supplier of protective devices based in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Supply Planner, Supply Chain Planner, Purchasing Planner, Procurement Planner, or Supply Chain Coordinator to join a busy procurement team. You'll play a key role in ensuring product availability, managing supplier relationships, and supporting the efficient flow of goods across the supply chain.

Key Duties

  • Review the open order book on a daily basis.
  • Chase suppliers for order acknowledgements, proof of delivery (PODs), lead times, pricing, and other order updates.
  • Place domestic and international purchase orders and manage associated administration.
  • Arrange and coordinate shipment plans with international suppliers.
  • Review stock profiles and work with suppliers and Product Managers to maintain the correct product portfolio, including reorder levels and stocked items.
  • Carry out SO99+ maintenance and inventory control procedures.
  • Manage aged stock and slow-moving inventory, including quarterly stock rotation.
  • Select and develop relationships with service providers, including freight forwarders.
  • Negotiate improved pricing and purchasing terms with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Review supplier rebates and work towards agreed targets.
  • Carry out vendor database maintenance and clean-up activities.
  • Complete mass uploads, including monthly price list updates.
  • Gather supplier data and maintain the integrity of the product database.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel and Outlook skills.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
