The Role

As the Night Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be the primary engineering support during the night shift, taking ownership of breakdowns and ensuring production equipment is running at peak performance ready for the next day's operation.

  • Responding quickly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
  • Driving continuous improvement projects to improve reliability
  • Supporting hygiene teams with equipment strip‑downs and rebuilds
  • Fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Maintaining engineering records and spare parts
  • Working closely with production to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency
  • Promoting high standards of health & safety and housekeeping (5S)

What We're Looking For

You’ll ideally have experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Multi‑Skilled Engineer or Shift Engineer within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.

  • A recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics and industrial machinery
  • The confidence to work independently and make decisions
  • A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
